 The single most ignored piece of equipment in any restaurant, bar or market is the icemaker. It is often taken for granted and expected to perform 24 hours per day without maintenance and without adequate ventilation. The machines we offer are designed to withstand common end-user abuse and, in many cases, have sensors that shut the system down in the event of a problem. This prevents serious damage in that the system will not resume operation until the potential (or real) danger to its operation is dealt with. Icemakers, for the most part, are sold in two sections, the icemaker (head) itself, and the storage compartment (bin). The flexibility of mix-matching heads and bins lends itself to meet virtually any ice requirement. Very different from the icemakers of twenty years ago, the design and efficiency of today's units is a marvel to see. Scotsman’s ice maker/dispensers offer a wide range of ice production and storage capacities. Their machines are available with levers or with Scotsman's unique Touchfree® infrared sensors to dispense ice and water reliably. Scotsman also supplies a wide variety of modular ice machines or self- contained units with production capacities from 200 - 2,000 lbs, in 22", 30" and 48" widths or in compact self-contained models. In addition, there are modular flake and nugget ice machines or self-contained units with production capacities ranging from 400-2,400 lbs. in 22", 30" or 42" widths or in compact self-contained models.  Ice-O-Matic is proud of its role in the ice making industry. The company was among the first to convert its machines to final-phase refrigerants, before it was governmentally required. For years, Ice-O-Matic has boasted an ISO 9001 certification, the highest level of the ISO 9000 quality standards. Ice-O-Matic manufactures a wide range of ice related products, including cubers, flakers, storage bins, dispensers and water filters. The cubers produce several different forms of ice, including ice harvested in individual pieces.
